LITTLE FARMYARD CLASSES

We firmly believe in learning through play and using our bodies and imaginations to discover the world around us. We do this through a routine-based daily programme, as we feel that children who are exposed to continuity and routine feel at ease and have a better idea of what lies ahead and what is expected of them.

Our programme allows for variation and spontaneity while keeping to a routine that lets our children develop holistically and at a pace that suits each individual.

ORANGE CLASS

Gross motor milestones:

Roll onto tummy

Catch a ball and many more stimulating activities

Educational and fine motor milestones:

Stack blocks
Identify and point to familiar objects
Animal sounds
Body parts
Crayon scribble
Recognize and sort black and white colour objects|Recognize a circle and number 1 and many more age-appropriate stimulation activities

Emotional and social milestones:

Show more independence with regard to separation from parents
Play independently
Fall asleep on their own
Take an interest in others and in their surroundings, etc.

GREEN CLASS

Run and change direction without losing balance
Walk on tiptoe
Walk backwards with ease
Throw and catch a ball
Potty training etc.

Educational and fine motor milestones

Threading
Hold a pair of scissors with both hands and cut paper
Leaf through a book page by page
Colour sorting and shape sorting
Counting
Differentiate between smallest and biggest etc.

Emotional and social milestones

Parallel play (plays next to, not with a friend)
Separate from a parent with ease
Know the difference between right and wrong
Try not to push, pinch, or bite when frustrated etc.

BLUE CLASS

Ride a tricycle
Jump up and down stairs with good balance
Jump forwards and backwards on request
Run and kick a ball simultaneously
Stand on one leg etc.

Educational and fine motor milestones

Familiarity with body part functions (see with eyes, hear with ears, etc.)
Improved pencil grip
Identify certain shapes when asked
Can remember a short number sequence etc.

Emotional and social milestones

Tend to ask a lot of questions
Want to do tasks independently
Able to show sympathy towards others
Start to have special friends etc.

YELLOW CLASS
